​Classes

The Waconia Dance Company offers dance classes for students ages 3 - 18 years old. We offer Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Kick, Musical Theater, and Pom.


Tuition

Due by the 1st of every month with a $15 late charge for tuition paid after the 1st of the month.


Tuition Discounts

If the same child takes more than two classes, the third and fourth classes are half price tuition.​


Costumes

Costumes must be paid in full in November. Exact costume totals will be given out in October. For budgeting purposes plan for an average of $70 per costume.

  • 45-minute classes have 1 costume. This includes Hip Hop, Pom, Kick and Preschool classes, with the exception of K-1 Ballet and Tap, they will have 2 costumes.
  • 1 hour classes have 2-3 costumes. This includes 2nd-4th, 4th-6th, 7th-8th, and 9th-12th grade classes.


Calendar (2023-2024 Season)

Classes start Tuesday, September 5th. 

The studio is closed on the following days:

  • MEA Break​ (Wednesday Oct. 18th and Thursday Oct. 19th)
  • Halloween (Tuesday Oct. 31st)
  • Thanksgiving Break (Monday Nov. 20th through Friday Nov. 24th)
  • Christmas Holiday Break (Monday Dec. 25th through Tuesday Jan. 2nd)
  • ​Martin Luther King Day (Monday Jan. 15th)
  • Presidents Day (Monday Feb. 19th)
  • Spring Break (Thursday Feb. 29th through Thursday Mar. 7th)
  • Easter (Sunday Mar. 31st)

Dance Attire

Dancers are expected to wear tight fitting clothing. Tights, leotards, leggings, tank tops are preferred.  Hair must ALWAYS be pulled back. 


Shoes

Dance shoes can be purchased at WDC or through Step and Stretch in Minnetonka.

WDC uses the following shoe styles and colors:

  • Tan Jazz Booties 
  • Tan Tap Shoes
  • Pink Ballet Shoes
  • ​Black Hip Hop Sneakers


​Dropping Classes
We need written notice by the 15th of the month or you will be charged for the following month.


Missed Classes

There are no refunds for missed classes. You may attend a similar class if you would like to make-up a missed class time. 


Year End Recital (2024)

Recital is held at Waconia High School Auditorium in May. Rehearsal will be in the morning on Saturday May 18th, 2024 and recitals will be Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th.
